American Heart Association offers suggestions for patients on Avandia

After recent studies showed an increased risk of certainly cardiovascular conditions such as stroke for patients taking rosigilitazone (Avandia), the American Heart Association issued a news release that comments on the studies and provides recommendations, including a statement that metformin should be the first choice when a glucose-lowering medication is needed.
