Dear INA Members,

It is with deep gratitude and great enthusiasm that I step into the role of Executive Director of the Iowa Nurses Association. I’m honored to join an organization with such a rich legacy of advocacy, education, and leadership—one that truly reflects the strength and spirit of Iowa’s nurses.
Our upcoming conference theme, “Change: from Cocoon to Wings: Celebrating Change,” couldn’t be more fitting, not just for the transformation happening across our profession, but also for this moment in INA’s journey. Change invites growth. It challenges us to reevaluate, reimagine, and rise. And like the metamorphosis from cocoon to wings, it reveals the beauty of what’s possible when we move forward with intention and courage.
Throughout my career, I have witnessed the extraordinary impact nurses have, not just at the bedside, but in boardrooms, classrooms, legislative halls, and communities. Your resilience, your expertise, and your compassion are the lifeblood of our healthcare system. As INA continues to advocate for the profession and support the people behind it, I am committed to listening, learning, and leading with you.
In the months ahead, you can expect continued focus on strengthening our advocacy efforts, elevating member engagement, and building partnerships that expand our reach and amplify our voice. We’ll also celebrate the many ways nurses across Iowa are embracing innovation, driving change, and shaping the future of health care.
As we look to the future, I invite you to see this season of change as an opportunity to connect, to lead, to grow. Whether you are a long-standing member or newly exploring INA, your presence matters. Your voice matters. And together, we can shape a stronger, more unified nursing community.
Thank you for the warm welcome, and thank you for all you do as nurses, leaders, and changemakers.
