The Florida Nurses Association invites all members to the 2025 FNA Membership Assembly, scheduled for September 24–26, 2025, at the Hilton St. Petersburg Carillon Park.

This year’s theme, Elevating Nursing: Innovation in a Digital Age, focuses on the integration of technology and innovation in nursing practice. As healthcare rapidly evolves, nurses must be prepared to embrace new technologies while navigating the ethical and practical challenges they bring.

The Assembly will feature dynamic speakers and sessions that explore how digital advancements are transforming healthcare and the nursing profession. Join us in discussing how nurses can harness innovation while ensuring the profession remains patient-centered, equitable, and ethically grounded.

Registration for FNA Membership Assembly is now open. FNA Members receive a discounted registration rate. Take advantage of additional early bird savings now through July 31.

Schedule Highlights

  • Early Career Nurse Boot Camp: A special session designed to empower nurses in their early years of practice with tools for career development, resilience, and professional engagement.
  • Educational Sessions: Learn about topics related to digital innovation in nursing plus additional topics relevant to healthcare and nursing practice.
  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with your fellow FNA members and nursing peers from across Florida and your local regions.
  • Awards Ceremony: Celebrate the achievements of outstanding nurses.
  • Business Meeting: Participate in shaping FNA’s future through bylaws review and voting on reference proposals.
  • Swearing-In of the New Board of Directors: Join us for the official installation of FNA’s newly elected leadership.

Preparing for the Annual Business Meeting

The Annual Business Meeting provides FNA members the opportunity to actively engage in the governance of the association. Members can vote on recommended bylaws changes and proposed positions, as well as submit their own recommendations before the meeting. The Business Meeting will be held on the final day of Membership Assembly, September 26.

Reference Proposals: The Reference Committee is accepting proposals through August 1 for consideration at the Membership Assembly. Reference proposals are essential in shaping FNA’s initiatives. A proposal should outline a nursing issue and recommend specific actions for FNA to take. Generally, a proposal includes: Statement of Concern, Rationale, Statement of Proposed Position, and Recommendations for Action. All Reference Proposals will be reviewed, discussed, and may be revised during the Membership Assembly before being considered for adoption.

Bylaws Changes: All FNA members are given the opportunity each year to submit proposed changes to the bylaws. The Bylaws Committee reviews all submissions, selects proposals to move forward, and presents them to the Assembly for discussion and voting. During the Annual Business Meeting, members will review and vote on the proposed changes that were submitted earlier in the year.
