IFN Mission is to preserve the heritage, principles, values, and practices of our healing profession through the support of scholarship, education. and research.
IFN Vision is to engender the spirit of giving to nurture the soul of nursing now and for future generations.

The first few months of 2025 have been incredibly productive for the IFN and its committees. During our March 2025 meeting, Timothy Marks, DNP, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, CEN, was appointed to fill the vacant NJSNA seat on the IFN Board of Trustees. We are excited to welcome Tim aboard and eagerly anticipate his valuable contributions to advancing our mission.
The Scholarship Committee diligently reviewed over thirty applications and was delighted to award more than $15,000 to this year’s deserving scholarship recipients. The C.A.R.E.S. Committee had the privilege of reviewing nominations for more than 40 outstanding nurses, recognizing their achievements in clinical practice, administration, research, education, and support.
The C.A.R.E.S. Gala was a joyous celebration honoring both the C.A.R.E.S. Awards and scholarship recipients. We were especially thrilled to induct Mary Germain into the Institute for Nursing’s Roll of Honor, recognizing her remarkable career and invaluable contributions to the NJSNA. Additionally, Dely Go was formally recognized as a Trustee Emerita for the Institute for Nursing Board, a testament to her long-standing dedication to the IFN and its mission
I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Board of Trustees and its committees. Their unwavering dedication to the IFN and its mission is truly invaluable.

Scholarships
Since 1989, the Institute for Nursing has awarded over $500,000 in scholarships, empowering the next generation of nurses. These scholarships support students across a wide range of nursing programs, from undergraduate and graduate studies to LPNs advancing their careers by becoming RNs.
The IFN NJ Devils Nurse’s Night
The Institute for Nursing had an unforgettable Nurses Night at the Prudential Center on March 20, 2025, cheering on the NJ Devils as they faced off against the Calgary Flames. Though the Devils didn’t take home the win, the energy and excitement of the night was palpable!
Throughout the evening, NJSNA and IFN were recognized in multiple ways. I had the incredible opportunity to ride the Zamboni between warmups and puck drop—an exhilarating experience! The IFN was also honored during the game, with a group of nurses representing NJSNA and IFN featured on the Jumbotron between the first and second periods. To top it off, we gathered for a large group photo at center ice after the game, capturing the spirit of the night.
In addition to enjoying the game, we hosted a table in the concourse, engaging with nurses and attendees to raise awareness about NJSNA and IFN. It was a fantastic evening, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s event!
CARES Awards Gala
The C.A.R.E.S. Awards Gala took place on April 10th at the Pines Manor in Edison, NJ, celebrating excellence in nursing and honoring outstanding nurses selected by their peers. These exceptional individuals were recognized for their achievements in five key areas: clinical practice, administration, research, education, and support.
We were honored to welcome Mary Germain into the Institute for Nursing’s Roll of Honor, celebrating her outstanding career and significant contributions to the NJSNA. Likewise, Dely Go was officially recognized as a Trustee Emerita for the Institute for Nursing Board, a well-deserved tribute to her enduring commitment to the IFN and its mission.
On behalf of the IFN, we sincerely appreciate everyone who contributed to this event, especially those who took the time to nominate a nurse who exemplifies excellence in their field.
The evening also highlighted the incredible achievements of our scholarship recipients, with more than $15,000 awarded to support the future of nursing. It was a truly inspiring night dedicated to recognizing and uplifting the nursing community!
