Richland School District one instituted the DAISY Award in 2024, becoming the first school district in the state of South Carolina and the second in the United States to recognize school nurses. To date, four school nurses in the district have been bestowed Daisy honoree status and 11 nurses have been honored as Daisy nominees.
The DAISY Award recognition shines a spotlight on their exceptional contributions and tireless commitment. As front-line caregivers, educators, and advocates, these school nurses are true changemakers—proving that innovation in nursing starts right in our schools. Join SCNA in celebrating incredible impact of our colleagues on the future of children in SC.
If you would like to continue the momentum of Richland One and nominate a deserving nurse from any setting, consider a nomination for one of the many SCNA Statewide Daisy Awards. Every nurse deserves an opportunity to be considered for this honor and SCNA is committed to celebrating the contributions of all South Carolina Nurses.
