With critical legislative races ahead, MONA-PAC is working to elect candidates who understand and support Missouri nurses.

Dear Nurse Supporters,

The 2026 legislative session is over. Campaign season has begun and is already heating up. That means it is time to raise the necessary funds for Missouri Nurses Association Political Action Committee. We need to support our legislative champions that moved our legislation forward this year AND we need to elect other candidates that support nurses.  Together we can ensure we elect nurse-friendly legislators in key districts across Missouri.

This year we can announce something exciting.  Our research has identified Eight – YES eight nurses running for the Missouri House in districts across the state. We need nurses on BOTH sides of the aisle. Those serving in the majority would have influence in setting the legislative agenda and those serving in the minority would have influence within their own caucus and beyond. We know the issues of greatest concern to nurses are bipartisan.   It would be great to elect nurses to the Missouri House from both political parties so they can work together on bipartisan healthcare issues.

We also are monitoring important races in the State Senate.  In addition to the nurse in the Senate, Sen. Patty Lewis, two of our most reliable champions have helped to move legislation forward in the Senate have been Senator Nick Schroer and Senator Rusty Black.  Both are up for re-election and need our support.

Another key development is a race on the Kansas City side of the state.  House Speaker Jon Patterson has been the key figure stopping the APRN legislation from making progress in the House.  He is term-limited in the House and is running for State Senate.  It is crucial we raise funds necessary to oppose him, as he would be a serious roadblock for APRNs if elected to the Senate.
