Focus on Foundation
As I reflect on the Florida Nurses Foundation’s future, I am inspired by what we have accomplished together and excited about where we are headed. Every scholarship awarded, every research project supported, and every nurse assisted during a time of hardship embodies our mission’s heart: championing and empowering Florida nurses by funding initiatives that strengthen the profession.
Our newly approved 2026–2029 Strategic Plan provides a roadmap for the next chapter of the Foundation’s journey. At its core is a vision that resonates deeply with all of us: A healthier Florida powered by the strength, innovation, and compassion of nurses.
To achieve this vision, we have identified three strategic pillars that will guide our work over the coming years: Awareness, Financial Strength, and Programs and Services.
Increasing Awareness of Our Impact
Many nurses and community members are not yet aware of the incredible difference the Florida Nurses Foundation makes across our state. We want to change that. Through storytelling, outreach, and stronger partnerships, we will shine a light on the lives transformed through scholarships, research grants, and our Nurses in Need program.
By sharing the stories of the nurses we support, we hope to inspire others to become advocates, donors, and ambassadors for our mission. Together, we can help more Floridians understand that investing in nurses is investing in healthier communities.
Building Financial Strength for the Future
Sustaining and growing our impact requires a strong financial foundation. Over the next three years, we will focus on expanding philanthropic support, strengthening donor relationships, and diversifying revenue sources to ensure the Foundation remains a reliable resource for nurses for generations to come.
Whether through nurse-to-nurse giving, corporate partnerships, planned gifts, or endowed funds, every contribution helps us create opportunities for nurses to learn, lead, innovate, and thrive. Just as importantly, we are committed to transparency and accountability so our supporters can clearly see the difference their generosity makes.
Expanding Programs and Services
Nursing continues to evolve, and so do the needs of the healthcare workforce. The Florida Nurses Foundation will continue investing in high-impact scholarships, grants, and nurse-led research while strengthening support for nurses facing personal or professional crises through our Nurses in Need program.
We are committed to listening, learning, and adapting so that our programs remain relevant and responsive. By supporting education, innovation, resilience, and professional growth, we can help ensure that Florida nurses are prepared to meet the challenges and opportunities ahead.
