Celebrating Nurses Week in West Central Florida

Share
By: Meghan Moroney, BSN, RN, West Central Region Director, FNA

In May 2024, the Sarasota and Pasco County Boards of County Commissioners proudly recognized the invaluable contributions of nurses during Nurses Week. Both Pasco and Sarasota County held a special White Coat Assembly on May 7, 2024, where nurses gathered to receive a proclamation officially designating May 6-12, 2024, as Nurses Week. The proclamations serve as a testament to the ongoing appreciation and recognition of nurses’ unwavering commitment to patient care, resilience, and professionalism.

The tradition of honoring nurses in West Central Florida continued from the previous year. In 2023, the Boards of County Commissioners in DeSoto, Hillsborough, and Pinellas counties also issued proclamations during Nurses Week. These proclamations are a reminder of the vital role nurses play in our healthcare system and the importance of supporting them in their mission to provide exceptional care. The proclamations not only acknowledged their efforts but also encouraged the community to support and value the nursing profession.
