IFN Mission is to preserve the heritage, principles, values, and practices of our healing profession through the support of scholarship, education, and research.

IFN Vision is to engender the spirit of giving to nurture the soul of nursing now and for future generations.

Celebrating the IFN’s Achievements and Impact: A Heartfelt Thank You

At the end of 2024, I leave the position of Chair of the Institute for Nursing. I am pleased and proud to recognize the accomplishments of the Board of Trustees, the Scholarship Committee, the Awards Selection Committee and the Fundraising Committee.  These are only a few of their achievements.

  • The institutefornursing.org website was reviewed and revised to reflect correct content and current information.
  • The IFN Bylaws were reviewed and revised and approved by the Board on 1/9/24. Revisions include: 1) The position of Trustee Emeritus (granted at the discretion of the Chair and with the approval of the Board after completion of their term or following retirement) was created for those who made significant contributions to the IFN and 2) In the event of dissolution, after paying all liabilities, all assets will be distributed to the NJSNA.
  • Edward Allison, Public Trustee, resigned from the Board. The Board approved and welcomed a new Public Trustee, Maria Iacona Dietrich.
  • At the end of 2024, Vice Chair Dely Go will have completed her term on the IFN Board. We thank Dely for her years of service and her many significant contributions to the Institute.
  • There is currently one open Public Trustee position and at the end of the year there will be one NJSNA Trustee position open on the IFN Board. A call for these positions will be sent to the NJSNA membership in November.
  • The previously combined NJSNA/IFN Policy and Procedure Manual was separated into policies and procedures that were applicable to each entity. The IFN Board approved several revisions to the policies and procedures. The complete approved IFN Policy and Procedure Manual (5/21/24) was posted on Nursing Network.
  • Donations from June 2023-May 2024 totaled $21,150.
  • The IFN had a favorable budgetary outcome. The IFN exceeded expectations, surpassing the budgeted figure substantially.
  • A total of $12,000 was designated for scholarships in the 2024-2025 RAMP budget. Scholarships assist participants to remain in and successfully complete the program.
  • The general scholarship application was revised. Thirteen scholarships totaling $22,500 were awarded to 17 recipients.
  • At the Diva and Don Gala in April, the IFN honored 20 accomplished leaders.
  • Successful fundraisers were held throughout the year to support the IFN mission.

The IFN wouldn’t be where it is today without the invaluable contributions of our Board of Trustees and their committees. I extend a sincere expression of gratitude to each member. Your time, dedication, and contributions have been instrumental in the success of the IFN.

Thank you, Donors!

We acknowledge our donors for their amazing dedication to the Institute for Nursing and, in some cases, honor the person they designate for recognition. Each contribution helps us to live our mission and achieve our goals. From June 2024 to present, IFN donations total over $3000.
