IFN Mission is to preserve the heritage, principles, values, and practices of our healing profession through the support of scholarship, education. and research.
IFN Vision is to engender the spirit of giving to nurture the soul of nursing now and for future generations.
Spring, a time of growth and new life is always busy for the IFN. We are so grateful for all who contribute their time and treasure to participate in fundraising activities.
In March, we held a Nurses Night fundraiser at the NJ Devils game. The IFN and NJSNA were honored throughout the night. Though the Devils lost a tough game, we had an amazing time. The group photo on center ice after the game showcased all who supported us.
The Diva and Don and Scholarship Committees worked hard to review worthy applicants and nominations. The selection process is always challenging. We were thrilled to honor 24 nurses at the Gala on April 16. Each honoree distinguished themselves with their unwavering commitment to excellence. We recognized the scholarship recipients. We distributed more than $17,000 in scholarships and grants to support nursing students and practicing nurses who are pursuing degrees in nursing.
May brings us to nurse’s week. This year, we celebrated the Power of Nurses with the ANA by running a campaign to honor a nurse. Nurses and their supporters, for a small fee, had the opportunity to honor a nurse, a nursing unit, or a nursing staff. The honors were proudly displayed on our website. The campaign was a tremendous way to publicly honor nurses.
Ticket sales for this year’s Caring and Sharing 50/50 raffle are strong and we look forward to drawing the winning ticket on May 19!
We are well into the planning for a celebration of the 125th Anniversary of NJSNA. The IFN is celebrating the anniversary on Friday, November 13th. Save the date. We are looking forward to a memorable celebration, honoring the legacy of the nurses who came before us and looking forward to the future!
With every donation, we leverage your power to support and advance nursing in New Jersey. When you participate in a fundraiser or make a direct donation, you affect change for a nurse. Further, you enable the IFN to fulfill our mission and advance our goals. I am deeply grateful for your commitment to nursing and to using your Power to create change. The nurses who benefit from your generosity are equally grateful.
Together, you and the Institute for Nursing are using your Power to advance nursing!

I am sincerely grateful for the IFN Board of Trustees and The IFN Fundraising Committee and its Chair, Jackie Owens. Their commitment and contributions are instrumental in the impact of the IFN. The NJSNA/IFN staff are invaluable to continuing our missing, and I appreciate all they put into their support of the IFN and me.
I am in awe of The Power of Nurses in NJ!
