What a celebration of nursing excellence! The 2026 Nebraska Nurses Association Annual Convention brought nurses from across our state together for two inspiring days of connection, learning, recognition and celebration as we honored 120 years of nursing excellence in Nebraska and looked toward the future of our profession.

One of the highlights of Convention was our Historical Panel, which gave us an opportunity to reflect on where nursing has been, the leaders who helped shape our profession, and the incredible legacy we carry forward. Hearing these stories reminded us that the work we do today is part of a much larger history—and that we have the opportunity to shape what comes next.

Our educational sessions featured an incredible group of knowledgeable and engaging presenters, who shared their expertise, challenged our thinking and inspired us to continue growing as nurses and leaders. From clinical practice to professional development and the future of nursing, Convention offered something for everyone and reinforced the importance of lifelong learning.

We also celebrated the remarkable nurses who make a difference every day through our NNA Awards Ceremony. Recognizing these individuals was a wonderful reminder of the extraordinary talent, dedication and compassion present throughout Nebraska nursing. Our 40 Under 40 Breakfast provided another special opportunity to celebrate emerging leaders and the bright future of our profession.

We closed Convention with an unforgettable keynote from Katie Boston Leary, whose message challenged and inspired us to think boldly about the future of nursing and our role in creating meaningful change. Her words were a fitting conclusion to two days centered on honoring our past while looking confidently toward the future.

Most importantly, Convention reminded us of the power of coming together as nurses. Across specialties, organizations, generations and communities, we share a common commitment to advancing nursing and improving the health of Nebraskans.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Convention such a success—our presenters, volunteers, award recipients, sponsors, exhibitors, committee members, Board of Directors and, most importantly, our NNA members. We are so proud of what we are building together and excited for what lies ahead for Nebraska nursing.

Here’s to honoring our legacy, celebrating our accomplishments and shaping the future of nursing—together.
