2024 Accomplishments

  • Reviewed and updated all documents of Nomination Committee.
  • On June 26, 2024, a brainstorming session focusing on strategies to diversify the ballot. Participants included six members of the Nominating Committee, an EDI committee representative and eight interested ANA-Ohio Members.
  • Conducted a Candidate’s Forum on September 05, 7pm via Zoom.
  • The 2024 Ballot was developed. There was 24% diversity representation on the 2024 ballot. There was none in 2023. Eleven counties are represented. Levels of education on the ballot include BSN = 4, Master’ Degrees = 7, DNP = 1, and PhD = 9.
  • Participation in voting increased from 4% in 2023 to 10% in 2024.
  • Created Bylaws language to cover the Election procedure, including changing the name of the committee to Nomination and Elections Committee.

2025 Goals

  1. Increase % of membership voting from 10% to 15%.
  2. Continue to focus on diversity on the ballot with a goal of 30% of the candidates having a diverse background based on race or sex.
  3. Continue to offer diversity on the ballot in terms of area of state represented, level of education and area of practice (education, clinical, administrative, and research).
  4. Make any changes in procedure or nature of the ballot preparation that is necessitated by approved bylaws changes.
  5. Hold a successful 2025 election.
