2024 Accomplishments
- One CE Event was held virtually: Men in Nursing- presented by Todd Tussing, DNP, RN, CENP, FNAP.
- Had a virtual meeting with Kerry Dahkal, MAA, MLS, Associate Professor, Librarian, Chair, Diversity, and inclusion Committee to discuss equity, diversity inclusion teaching learning strategies for nursing groups.
- Attended the ANA workshop on exploring funding/criteria needs of EDI committees. This discussion will result in opportunities for funding in the future.
- The Equity, Diversity, Inclusion Committee has posted four (4) discussion topics on the ANA Community Digest site on Housing authority, racism and health; Do belonging and othering matter?; Awareness of bias by offering the Implicit Association Test (IAT) published by Harvard University; and what is “unwavering support”?
2025 Goals
- Explore, select, complete, and submit one application to provide funding for EDI activities.
- Develop at least one partnership with a minority nursing association in Ohio.
- Present a minimum of one continuing education program on an EDI topic for the general ANA Ohio membership.
- Work directly with the ANA-Ohio Publications Committee to ensure that all information/marketing materials reflect the EDI values and commitments of the organization.
