Nurses in Action for a Healthier Florida
From the bedside to the boardroom and from local communities to the legislative arena, nurses drive meaningful change that improves health outcomes and strengthens our healthcare system.
At the 2026 FNA Membership Assembly, we will explore how nurses across all roles and specialties can take action—advocating for safe patient care, advancing health equity, influencing health policy, strengthening workplace environments, mentoring the next generation of nurses, and leading initiatives that improve the health of communities across Florida.
Registration for the event is now open. FNA Members receive a discounted registration rate and can take advantage of additional early bird savings now through July 31.

Preparing for the Annual Business Meeting
The Annual Business Meeting provides FNA members the opportunity to actively engage in the governance of the association. Members can vote on recommended bylaws changes and proposed positions, as well as submit their own recommendations before the meeting. The Business Meeting will be held on the final day of Membership Assembly, September 4.
Reference Proposals: The Reference Committee is accepting proposals through August 1 for consideration at the Membership Assembly. Reference proposals are essential in shaping FNA’s initiatives. A proposal should outline a nursing issue and recommend specific actions for FNA to take. Generally, a proposal includes: Statement of Concern, Rationale, Statement of Proposed Position, and Recommendations for Action. All Reference Proposals will be reviewed, discussed, and may be revised during the Membership Assembly before being considered for adoption.
Bylaws Changes: All FNA members are given the opportunity each year to submit proposed changes to the bylaws. The Bylaws Committee reviews all submissions, selects proposals to move forward, and presents them to the Assembly for discussion and voting. During the Annual Business Meeting, members will review and vote on the proposed changes that were submitted earlier in the year.
