Springing Forward to New Heights
It’s been an exciting several months for Nurses House, Inc. as we continue to make strides in becoming more visible across the United States. As a national non-profit organization, it is critical we are supported by not only nurses but those who know how important nurses are to healthcare in America. While applications for assistance are steadily growing, donations to support our grant program haven’t caught up yet. However, with your help in spreading the word to your colleagues and others who support nurses, we can certainly help more fellow nurses in their time of need.
In addition, Nurses House, Inc. finally became a public charity after being a private entity since its inception over 100 years ago. This change allows us to apply for grants to bolster our income sources and help more nursing colleagues.
To reach more nurses far and wide, we have brought our ease of access to a new level. Nurses House has partnered with an up-and-coming computer-generated network that uses virtual bots to help find grants and create posts for social media. We have already applied for a few grants and hope to bring in more funding to enhance our ability to help more nurses. Check out our Facebook and Instagram pages for more information and upcoming events.
We hope you will join us for the annual Linda O’Brien Memorial Walk on November 14, 2026, at the ANA-NY Annual Conference in Troy, NY. Linda had been an avid supporter of Nurses House for decades and always donated the T-shirts each year for the walk. Since her death in April 2025, our yearly walk was appropriately named after her and it is a wonderful time for nursing colleagues to congregate, take a leisurely (or brisk) walk on the morning of the last day of the ANA-NY Conference. Please consider joining us this year and invite your friends and colleagues.
Spring is a season to celebrate change, gardens of flowers, and warm rays of sunshine, so please consider donating to help our nursing colleagues when they are facing dark times in their lives. Thank you.
