Cholecystectomy during third term of pregnancy should be avoided

For women in the third trimester of pregnancy, cholecystectomy should be delayed (whenever possible) until the postpartum period to avoid adverse maternal outcomes, according to a study in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons.
