Nurse names new head of Institute for Healthcare Improvement

Maureen Bisognano, who started her career as a staff nurse, was named chief executive officer for Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), replacing Donald Berwick, MD, who President Barack Obama appointed to head the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
