Loyalty vs integrity when making a professional endorsement

I’m in a social media group for nurse practitioners (NPs), and a recent discussion made me uncomfortable. One individual offered to write a positive endorsement for other group members in exchange for a positive endorsement from them on a public website that rates NPs. I was surprised that some in the group were in favor of the practice.
