On February 24, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is hosting a public meeting to celebrate FDA Rare Disease Day 2020 which will focus on what the future holds for the product development process for rare diseases.
Part of the FDA’s mission is the focus on increasing the quality of life of patients and their family members, which is an especially important area for those whose lives are affected by a rare disease.
The meeting on February 24 will allow the FDA to hear directly from stakeholders in various rare disease communities, including, patients, caregivers, clinicians, and researchers.
American Nurse applauds the FDA’s efforts in this area, and our team is excited to see the outcome of the meeting.Learn more about the FDA’s initiatives in the rare disease space here.
