RN elected to Florida legislature shares her insights.

WHEN she saw an open seat in the Florida House of Representatives, Janegale Boyd, RN, decided to take a chance and run. She beat the odds and became the first active nurse to serve at the state level, completing two terms, from 1996 to 2000. Afterward, she spent 13 years as president and CEO of Leading Age Florida, a nonprofit association advocating for retirement housing and senior healthcare. She currently serves as president of the Florida Nurses Association.
