Nurse Heroes– Nurses lead during the pandemic

Share

We at American Nurse Journal are privileged to highlight the amazing job nurses are doing in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. At what is too often high personal sacrifice, they are caring for patients, supporting families and colleagues, leading teams, educating future nurses, advocating for policy change, and so much more.

The American Nurses Association (ANA) asked nurses to submit photos that reflected their pandemic experience, whether caring for patients, supporting fellow healthcare workers, or finding a moment to recharge amidst the chaos.* Here are some of those images, most serious, but a few reflecting the humor sometimes needed to ease stress. Taken together, they bear witness to the caring, the courage, and the commitment of members of an honored profession.

Truly, nurses are American Heroes. Please view a slideshow of some nurse heroes below.
