Hospital volume associated with better survival in patients with head and neck cancer

“Hospital volume is associated with survival but not multimodality therapy in Medicare patients with advanced head and neck cancer,” published in Cancer, found that Medicare patients with advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma treated at high-volume hospitals weren’t more likely to receive National Comprehensive Cancer Network guideline therapy, but had “nearly statistically significant better survival, when compared with patients treated at low-volume hospitals.” Read more.
