More than half of all resolutions fail, but this year The New York Times offers some tips to help you identify the right resolution, create a plan on how to reach it, and successfully achieve your goal.

For example, to help you pick the right resolution for you, she says your goals should be SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. She also points out some things that can lead to failure, such as creating a resolution based on what someone else (or society) says you need to change.
