Score for predicting duration of ventilator weaning

How long will it take to wean a patient requiring prolonged mechanical ventilation once a tracheostomy is placed? Clinicians may soon be able to better answer that question by using a score based on ventilator settings the day after tracheostomy placement, according to a study in the American Journal of Critical Care.
