Which of the following patients is likely to be the most sensitive to insulin?

a. A 65-year-old man with sepsis
b. A 26-year-old woman with multiple injuries from an auto accident.
c. A man with chronic renal failure
d. A woman on corticosteroids for asthma

Correct answer: c. A patient’s response to insulin, called insulin sensitivity, hinges on many factors, including age, weight, diabetes type, kidney function, and medications.
