Dear Reader:

Welcome to the debut issue of American Nurse Today. . .ONLINE! YOU have spoken and we are responding! Over the last 6 months, American Nurse Today has been conducting research through survey and polls to gain a better understanding of how our superstar readers prefer to receive our award-winning content. Over 75% of you have indicated a preference for receiving content through multiple channels – in print – and online.

To address our readers’ interest in electronic delivery of nursing information, American Nurse Today has developed a robust digital platform that together with our print products, offers our readers up-to-date, evidence-based content through, our monthly e-newsletters and now with American Nurse Today. . .ONLINE.

Nurses, like many, are especially busy today – with increased professional – and personal – demands on their time. Many readers have constantly asked us to deliver content to them digitally, which we have been doing since October 2007 through our digital replica of the print journal, the e-Edition. With our combined resources, electronic and traditional print mediums, American Nurse Today will continue to meet our readers’ quest for high-quality, science-based nursing editorial without losing a step. Our e-newsletter and American Nurse Today . . .Online deliver science-based, practical information to nurses “on demand” and insures continuity for the information resources nurses need to keep up to date.

Going forward, American Nurse Today – the print edition – will be mailed to our subscribers in the “odd” months – January, March, May, July, September and November. American Nurse Today. . . ONLINE will be emailed to you in the “even” months – February, April, June, August, October and December.

Every issue of the journal – whether in print or online will contain original, peer-reviewed articles, the latest news from ANA and more! You can depend on us to bring you compelling information that you can assimilate into your nursing practice immediately. Plus, our online edition of the journal will also contain timely healthcare and nursing news, information from trusted sources such as the CDC and NIH.

We also invite YOU – our readers – to be part of the conversation. Share your nursing experiences, share tips and engage with your colleagues. Please contact me at any time with your valued feedback whether it is constructive criticism or complements, we want to hear from you!
